This starts life as juicy British steak, pan fried and added to a tasty medley of slow cooked onions, cracked black pepper, herbs and spices. A good hearty stout gives the gravy an added richness and it’s all simmered together for hours, until the steak is tender and succulent. To finish the pie, a generous helping of blue Stilton is crumbled into the mix, melting to create an unbelievable new layer of flavour. It’s generously filled into a delicate shortcrust pastry base and topped with a crisp, flaky puff pastry before being hand-crimped by skilled bakers.

HOW TO STORE

  1. Storage: Keep frozen at -18°C or below
  2. Defrost: Defrost in refrigerator overnight. Do not re-freeze once defrosted
  3. Shelf life defrosted: Store in refrigerator and use within 24 hours

Cooking Instructions:   Cooking guidelines from frozen: preheat the oven with a baking tray to 180°C fan / gas 6. Remove pie from outer packaging but leave the pie within the foil.

Brush the pie lid with beaten egg. Place the pie onto the preheated baking tray and place in the centre of the oven and cook for 50-55 minutes.

If the pastry has a rich deep colour before the cooking time is complete, cover loosely with foil and continue to cook until piping hot.

Remove from oven and allow to stand for 3 minutes before serving.

Ensure product is piping hot throughout before serving.
Do not reheat once cooked.
